Swatches - Elf - Disney's Snow White - Fairest of Them All Collection

A few nights ago, I regrammed a picture of the new elf and Disney collaboration for the new Snow White collection.  Tonight I was lucky enough to find the collection at my local Walgreens before any of the pieces were missing.  There are several pieces to this collection, just like it's predecessor the Ariel collection.  I spotted makeup bags, the beauty book, an eyeshadow palette, a lipstick trio, a brush set, and a face powder (or blush/contour).  I picked up everything but the brush set and face set, though the packaging was pretty enough I may end up rounding out the set.

A quick aside about the brush set though.  The brushes appear to be from the $1.00 elf line.  They are not the best brushes in the world.  It retails for $9.99, which isn't bad, but I wouldn't pick up the set thinking that you were going to get MAC quality brushes.  Elf brushes are hit or miss.  I would pick up the brush set because the brush holder looks so awesome, not for the brushes.

I am actually quite happy with the purchases I made.  The packaging is gorgeous.  I personally like it better than the Ariel set, but I'm a sucker for red, white, black, and gold.  There is just a timeless, classic look to it. This is Snow White we're talking about, it is meant to be timeless and classic!

Here is what I got:

Look at that packaging.  Beautiful!

Let's start with the bag.  This was not the only bag in the collection.  It was the largest and had a different design than the others.  The other bags had the black and white style.  The picture is adorable and the inside of the bag has a design similar to the one on the other makeup items in a deep blue.  The pictured scene is also one of my favorites from the movie.  I couldn't help not getting it.  It's large enough to be a good carry bag for my makeup or my brushes.  Suffice to say I'm excited about it!  This bag retailed for $9.99.

(Inside of the bag)

There is a lip trio in this collection.  Red, red, red.  Very red.  The lip gloss is an elf Essential Shimmer Lip Gloss in "Ruby Kiss".  The lip stain is named "Crison Crush".  That is not a typo, but what the sticker on the bottom of the tube states.  A quick look at the elf website does show that this should be "Crimson Crush", which is a permanent shade by the brand and can be found here.  Lastly, there is a elf Essential Lip Balm tint in "Berry".  This is part of the permanent range as well and can be found here.  I have heard pretty good things about the lip balm tints, so this might be worth it to try.  The lip set retailed for $4.99 and is pictured below.

Next there is the eyeshadow palette and mascara.  The eyeshadow palette has six colors, while the mascara is the standard black.  I was surprised by the way the palette swatched.  These shadows were pretty smooth and swatched nicely without primer.  The clear miss is the darkest shade, but with a primer it will probably be workable.  All the shades appear to have shimmer, not a matte in the bunch.  The eye collection retails for $4.99.

Last, but not least is the Snow White story book.  Again, I am very taken by the artwork on the front.  And surprisingly, I am not completely disappointed with the quality of the products on the inside.  The eyeshadows were not quite as great as the one in the eye collection palette, but most of the shades are workable.  The darkest shade, again, was lackluster, but the rest would work well with a primer.  Beyond the eyeshadows, the story book includes a lip gloss, eyelid primer, a black eyeliner, and a pinkish/coral blush (which I could not get to photograph without it coming off completely orange which was not the true color at all).  The story book retails for $9.99.

There we go folks.  The Snow White collection by elf.  What do you think?  Will you be picking up any of the products?

While at Walgreens tonight, I found two new ChapSticks for the holidays.  They were on a endcap stringer in the beauty department.

First Look Swatches - Revlon - Lacquer Balm

Hello everyone!  I hope that you had a lovely week.  I am so very happy that it is Friday.  The week seemed to go by so fast, but today dragged on and on and on.

Today I am bringing you a quick first look review at the new Revlon Lacquer Balm sticks.  These are the ones with the glossy finish to the container.  They are currently being sold in a display with the matte lip balms (which I have now bought five of... I know, I know).  I have picked up three of the Lacquer Balms now.

The colors are Enticing (#150), Demue (#105), and Coy (#140).

I just picked these up, so I have not had an opportunity to play with them.  Hopefully in the next few weeks I will be able to give a better review and swatches.  I do find that the balms are nice and creamy with a glossy shine.

I have included a swatch of the colors for you below.  Enjoy!

First Look Swatches - Revlon Colorburst Matte Lip Balms

Hello everyone!  After reading several reviews on the products, I decided to pick up the Revlon Colorburst Matte Lip Balms.  The formula for these lip balms is amazingly creamy.  The colors are all highly pigmented and apply smoothly.  The lip balms also have that minty tingly taste, so if you don't like that, beware!  If you do not mind the taste, I would totally recommend these to everyone.

The packaging is sleek and looks like the other Revlon Colorburst lip balm products.  For these lip pencils, the packaging are all matte.  In two separate trips, I purchased four colors.

I have done a quick swatch so that you can see the colors I have purchased.  In the next few days, I will get some swatches of the products on the lips.  The four colors pictured below from top to bottom are Sultry (#225), Elusive (#205), Unapologetic (#210), and Striking (#240).

I really like the feel of these lip balms and I highly suggest them to anyone that likes the matte lip look.  Currently, these are retailing for approximately $8.99.  Walgreens has an in-store coupon for $2.00 off all Colorburst lip balms, just look in the November coupon book.  Remember, Walgreens allows coupon stacking, so if you have any printable coupons or clippings from the paper you can use those and the coupon book coupons together.

Hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween!

Texas Girls - HEB Revlon Deal!

Hey everyone!

Another day has come and gone.  On Tuesdays I tend to hit my local HEB before the sales turn over on Wednesday.  I then tend to go on Wednesday to check the next weeks deals.  Luckily, I live right across the street from the HEB.

Anyway!  It is so hard to find the deals at HEB on beauty websites, since it is just a Texas thing but the deals are so great, I hate to not share them!

Revlon eyes, lips, and face products have an in-store "B" coupon for $3.00 off.  Revlon nail and tools have an in-store "B" coupon for $1.50 off.  If you're not familiar with the "B" coupon, it means that these coupons will stack with manufacturer coupons.  So you can use two coupons on one product.  In my shopping spree today, I purchased six products for a total of $22.46!

The eyeshadows are the Revlon Illuminance Creme Shadow.  The three I purchased are Wild Orchids, Copper Canyon, and Not Just Nudes.  The lipstick is the Colorburst Lip Butter in Candy Apple.  The pencil is Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Sweetheart Valentine.  The nail polish is one of the new Revlon Magnetic polishes in Pop Star.  It is a shimmery blue, though not quite a dark blue as I have seen in other brands.

The eyeshadow palettes are normally $4.97.  The lip butter is normally $6.48 and the lip stain/balm is normally $7.48.  The nail polish is normally $9.97.

So go hit HEB if you have one near you and happy shopping!!!
